My name is Juan José Zambrano, and it is a privilege to welcome you to the United Nations Human Rights Council. I am truly excited to serve as your Chair as we explore a topic that sits at the intersection of ethics, autonomy, and global human rights.

Our committee will focus on The Right to Self-Determination: Examining Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide within the Framework of Human Dignity. This issue challenges us to consider how states can protect individual freedom while upholding the intrinsic value of human life.
