Almost there!

Greetings delegates,

On behalf of the KCP Model United Nations Secretariat, it is our honor to welcome you to the Twelfth Edition of our conference, held under the theme “One World, Many Voices, a Shared Vision.” We are excited to see meaningful dialogue, diplomacy, and collaboration from the bright young leaders gathered here.

This year’s theme highlights the strength of diversity and unity—each voice offering its own story while contributing to a common goal of a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world. Our mission remains to provide a space that encourages critical thinking, cultural understanding, and creative solutions to global challenges.

The United Nations reminds us that real progress happens when nations listen and work together. Your passion, insight, and dedication to diplomacy are essential in shaping impactful conversations and lasting change.

KCPMUN XII is your platform to grow as leaders, challenge ideas, and navigate global issues with confidence. Through debate and collaboration, you will gain skills that extend far beyond the committee room.

We look forward to a conference filled with meaningful discussions, diverse viewpoints, and inspiring ideas. Together, let us honor every voice, uphold our shared vision, and work toward a future built on cooperation.

Delegates,

Welcome to KCPMUN XII! It is my absolute honor to welcome you to a space where diplomacy meets creativity and global issues are tackled through collective solutions. I’m thrilled to invite you to join us in this three-day journey of debate, collaboration, and leadership, where you will spark meaningful conversations and engage in dialogue that responds to the challenges of our world today.

This year’s theme, “One World, Many Voices, A Shared Vision”, reminds us that progress is only possible when we listen to one another and work together. This event is more than a platform for discussion—it is a celebration of the power of teamwork to drive change, inspire action, and build bridges across divides. Throughout these three days, you will immerse yourselves in thought-provoking debates, strengthen your public speaking and negotiation skills, and collaborate with peers who share your commitment to shaping a better future.

As Secretary-General, I am confident that this conference will be a transformative experience for each of you—not only as you face global challenges, but as you discover how unity and cooperation elevate your ideas. I encourage you to approach every session with an open mind and a spirit of solidarity, knowing that collaboration can move mountains. Don’t let the fear of judgment silence you. It is essential that we learn to use our most powerful tool in moments of adversity: our voices. I hope this conference becomes a space where you speak boldly, think collectively, and engage with confidence. Even the smallest voices can rise and spark revolutions. Let us use this shared power to leave an indelible mark on the world and inspire a better tomorrow.

Esteemed Delegates,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to the 11th edition of KCPMUN! On behalf of my fellow Secretary-General Catalina Arteta, our Director-General Isabella Ritzel, and myself, I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to each of you.

As we gather here today, we stand at the intersection of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. This conference serves as an extraordinary opportunity to come together and engage in meaningful dialogue on the pressing issues facing our world today. In the spirit of collaboration, we aim to work together, sharing our knowledge, ideas, and solutions to the challenges we face. We are reminded by our motto, “Together we stand, divided we fall,” that it is only through unity that we can truly achieve success. When we join forces and combine our collective wisdom, we can overcome any obstacle and reach solutions that have a lasting impact.

In this journey, we ask you to not only bring your best diplomatic skills to the table but also to approach each session with an open mind, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to finding common ground. Through thoughtful discussions and constructive debates, we will demonstrate the power of collaboration and the importance of standing united in the face of adversity.

As delegates, you are the future leaders of tomorrow. The decisions made within these chambers may shape the course of global events and influence the policies of nations. Let this conference be a space where we celebrate our differences and find strength in our shared goals of peace, diplomacy, and cooperation. Let us all strive to make a positive contribution to this conference, knowing that the challenges we address today will guide us toward a more unified and harmonious world.

Delegates,

It is my honor to welcome you to KCPMUN XII. Over the next three days, you’ll be stepping into an environment built on curiosity, collaboration, and the desire to understand a world far bigger than ourselves. This conference thrives because each of you brings a unique voice, a distinct perspective, and a willingness to challenge ideas, not for the sake of conflict, but for the sake of progress.

Our theme this year, “One World, Many Voices, A Shared Vision,” reflects something essential: meaningful change doesn’t come from isolated effort. It comes from the blend of different viewpoints working toward a common purpose. Here, every delegate matters. Every argument, every negotiation, and every moment of courage you bring into your committee contributes to shaping the collective vision we are building together.

As Director-General, I hope you allow this conference to push you to think deeper, speak with intention, and embrace the discomfort that often precedes growth. These three days are not just an academic exercise; they’re an invitation to stretch your leadership, refine your diplomacy, and discover how collaboration can turn individual ideas into shared solutions. Don’t underestimate the impact you can make. Even the quietest contribution can shift the direction of a conversation or spark a new understanding.

Throughout the conference, remember that the most powerful leaders are the ones who lift others, listen before speaking, and recognize that unity is built, not granted. Let this be a space where you engage boldly, respect one another, and trust that your voice, distinct as it is, belongs in the global conversation we’re creating here.

This yearly event always takes me back to my first models, through the eyes of a nervous kid who honestly had no idea what he had signed up for. Ever since that faithful day, plenty of models have come and gone, some with good performances and others absolute wrecks on my part. In some models, I defended my deepest morals and debated with heart. In others, perhaps, I received the often less desirable option of having to speak against my own beliefs for the sake of the committee, and fought with every fiber of wit in my being. In both cases, anyhow, I learned, and one of these teachings is that nothing can beat courage and soul. Even in such a rational art as debating and in the weave of confusion that plays in the political violin, when we as delegates leave our soul on the podium, an effect is certain to happen in those who have their minds open. I also learned that by keeping one’s mind open, one has much higher chances of achieving positive performance, for only by truly understanding one’s rivals’ message can one counter it to the bone.

After walking a fairly long way, with plenty yet to come, since that time when I had no clue what I was doing, I can comfortably say that I still have no clue what I’m doing, but neither do most people, and that’s the beauty of it. If you have a clue in what you’re doing, in MUN, it only takes one debater of any kind with the right mind to turn that clue into a hook. See, I believe success comes from not having a clue in what’s going on, but in finding comfort in the chaos. No matter if you’re a careful planner with the best opening speech and a steady progression, or an improviser such as myself who finds a crisis and thinks of a field leveler, no one truly knows where the debate is heading, only a small idea of a hope to shape it. No matter if you’re a statistics freak who always refers to the numbers, or a creative mind that keeps making the committee president insane with ideas, your arguments will be seen. This is the idea that I want to transmit as this year’s Academic Coordinator, but mostly as a fellow human and potential friend. I want to reassure everyone, from rookies to the most experienced, that they all have a place in KCPMUN. The difference in everyone’s minds means everyone can bring a valuable performance. That no one is an impostor here, and even if you have no idea what to expect, your fellow delegates can’t possibly have that much more clue. That fear and nervousness shouldn’t stop you from being explicit about whatever is on your mind.
