The Situation in Yemen.

Felipe Restrepo

Hi Delegates,

My name is Felipe Restrepo, and I am honored to serve as your President in this committee. It is a privilege to work alongside such talented and driven individuals as we tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time.

In this committee, we will focus on the critical topic of The Situation in Yemen, a nation grappling with one of the most severe humanitarian crises of the modern era. Since 2011, Yemen has endured the devastating effects of armed conflict, economic collapse, displacement, and institutional fragility. These challenges are further compounded by foreign interventions and regional rivalries, leaving over 80% of the population in dire need of humanitarian assistance.

As representatives of the Security Council, you are tasked with crafting a balanced and sustainable resolution that addresses the multifaceted crisis. Key elements of our discussions will include ensuring humanitarian access, de-escalating conflict, fostering inclusive dialogue, and addressing the underlying causes of Yemen’s economic and institutional collapse.

Throughout the committee, I encourage you to approach the topic with compassion, creativity, and a commitment to diplomacy. Remember that every decision you make has real-world implications for millions of people in Yemen.

I look forward to seeing your innovative solutions and the depth of debate you bring to the table. Together, let us strive to uphold the principles of peace, sovereignty, and humanitarian protection.

Best regards,
Felipe Restrepo
President, Security Council
